Former FBI Director James Comey surprised the internet this weekend by revealing he’s a die-hard Taylor Swift fan — and yes, he even blasts “Tay Tay” while mowing the lawn.

In a video message that quickly went viral, Comey talked about how Taylor Swift’s music has been the “soundtrack” to his family’s life. He admitted he’s not only been to two Taylor concerts but also runs a private “family Swiftie group chat.”

Comey, who served as FBI Director from 2013 to 2017, said he listens to songs like All Too Well (10-minute version) and Exile on repeat. He explained that Swift’s music has helped him and his family face both good times and hard ones, saying she’s been a “guide” through life’s ups and downs.

But this wasn’t just about Swift. Comey used the video to throw shade at Donald Trump, accusing him of “humiliating America alongside Putin” and calling Trump’s leadership “a bad dream you can’t wake up from.”

At the same time, Comey praised Taylor for handling negativity with grace. He said she’s shown her fans — especially kids — how to deal with “bullies” without sinking to their level. He contrasted that to Trump’s online insults, adding, “There are far more decent, honest, kind people in America than mean ones. The jerks are loud, but they’re not the majority.”

Comey also brought up Swift’s advice about managing personal energy “like a luxury item,” warning people not to give “jerks” control of their happiness.

He even recalled attending her 2010 concert in Connecticut, where she performed “Mean.” Comey partially quoted the lyrics as an example of refusing to let cruelty drag people down, joking that fans were lucky he didn’t try to sing it himself.

The video exploded online, with some Swifties finding it funny while critics called it “the creepiest video in the history of social media.” Still, it sparked buzz around the unlikely crossover: a former FBI chief openly fangirling over one of the world’s biggest pop stars.

For Comey, being a Swiftie isn’t just about music. It’s about resilience, kindness, and yes — a little lawn-mowing therapy with “Tay Tay” in his earbuds.
