Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, and David Sacks are important people who wanted Donald Trump to choose JD Vance as his running mate. This is according to a report from Axios.

Vance was chosen as Trump's running mate on Monday. Trump told his friends that Vance was his top choice a few days before the announcement.

However, Vance didn't know he would be chosen until Trump told him on Monday. Two other people, Doug Burgum and Marco Rubio, were also considered for the job.

Musk, Carlson, and Sacks are said to have lobbied Trump to choose Vance. They thought he would be a good choice because he would appeal to working-class people.

Carlson said that Vance doesn't secretly dislike Trump like some other people do. He agrees with Trump's ideas and is against giving too much money to Ukraine.

Vance is a senator from Ohio and has been critical of Trump in the past. However, he has now become a supporter of Trump.

Musk congratulated Vance on Twitter and said it was an "excellent decision" by Trump.

Sacks also posted about Vance and called him an "American patriot".

Representatives for Trump, Vance, Musk, Carlson, and Sacks did not respond to requests for comment.
